Therapy Dogs Calm Travelers at Sacramento Airport

The holiday travel rush is on at Sacramento International Airport. Wednesday is one of the busiest travel days of the year but so far, it's smooth flying.

Laurie Slothower with the Sacramento County Department of Airports says the first holiday rush started early Wednesday morning.

"The TSA Check Point line was actually shorter than we anticipated," says Slothower.

People jetting off for holiday fun found ways to reduce travel stress. Musicians perform in the terminals and therapy dogs are on hand to help put a smile on your face.

"To greet passengers at the gate and add a little furry presence to the airport."

Slothower says if you're driving to the airport, check their website for parking availability. Overhead signs will also give you the latest information when you arrive.

Then the return trips start. Expect another rush Sunday afternoon and evening.
