About Kitty
Kitty O'Neal anchors the highly-rated and award-winning KFBK Afternoon News from 3 to 7 p.m., a show she has hosted for 15 years. She is also KFBK's Lifestyle Editor and provides news updates and feature reports throughout the day. She has had many coveted news assignments including covering a Presidential inauguration, the Grammy Awards, and 15 Academy Award ceremonies.

Now in her 22nd year with KFBK, Kitty has served in various capacities, including producing talk shows for KFBK and serving as News Director for seven years on sister station KGBY-FM.

Kitty's television credits include three years on KOVR 13 as entertainment reporter and host of the weekly real estate show "Home TV," which ran for ten years. She also appears in many commercials, videos and national programs, including a CBS TV miniseries and the A&E Channel's "Biography."

Kitty donates much of her time and talent to community events and charitable organizations. She also has been featured in numerous articles for local newspapers and publications and has appeared three times on the cover of "Sacramento Magazine." Since 2001, the readers of that magazine have annually voted Kitty the "Best Afternoon Drive Radio Personality" in Sacramento.

Before her media work, Kitty sang professionally in a touring musical group and continues to perform today. She graduated with Honors from California State University, Sacramento and has her B. A. Degree in Communication Studies.

She is married to Kurt Spataro, an Executive Chef and Restaurateur and are partners in several Sacramento area restaurants including Spataro and Esquire Grill.

Kitty is passionate about animals, especially felines, and she and Kurt have four cats: Rudy G., an Ocicat; Giorgio Armani, a Somali; Sammy Cahn, half Ocicat-half Blue Abbysinian; and Daisy, a stray tabby who really wanted to be adopted!

Kitty is an avid traveler, and designs and sews clothing for herself when she has time.

After a celebrated 35-year writing and reporting career at The Sacramento Bee, R.E. Graswich reinvented himself in 2007.

One of the best known -- and best connected -- journalists in the Sacramento region, Graswich embarked on a new career that includes radio and television appearances, media consulting, a magazine column and an internet blog.

After leaving the newspaper, Graswich turned to the broadcast media, now serving as co-anchor of the KFBK Afternoon News alongside Kitty O'Neal. Graswich also filled in as guest host of the Tom Sullivan Show¯ on KFBK. He began a nightly feature called "The Scoop"¯ for the 6 o'clock news on CBS 13 in Sacramento, and has been a guest host on CW31's Good Day Sacramento.

Graswich writes a monthly column for Sacramento magazine, and contributes a twice-weekly blog for Sacramento magazine's popular Web site, sacmag.com. As a media consultant, he advises clients on issues involving digital and traditional media.

Graswich wrote The Bee's must-read "around town"¯ Metro column for a decade before leaving the newspaper in January 2007. He served as the paper's leading sports columnist for eight years before moving to the Metro pages. Graswich spent his formative years at the newspaper covering sports from the Olympics to the Sacramento Kings.

Graswich is married to Elizabeth Graswich, Director of Communications for the Elk Grove Unified School District, Northern California's largest school district. R.E. Graswich is a San Francisco native who attended local schools.

The Graswich family lives in Sacramento's Greenhaven neighborhood with sons William and Robert.

It was four years ago this week that a double homicide shocked Northern California. A young couple, who worked as counselors at a Christian camp in El Dorado County, were found brutally murdered on a Sonoma County beach. They were both shot as they were camping, their Bibles lying by their side. They were planning on getting married the next month. Despite an exhaustive investigation, the killer or killers have not been found. RE and Bob spoke with Sergeant Tim Duke of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department.

He has been a major proponent for growth and bringing West Sacramento into the 21st century by attracting entertainment such as the Rivercats and construction projects such as the Calstrs High rise. You'll find his name on the ballot again soon, but it will not be for a state or congressional seat, but once again for mayor for the city he has served for the past 10 years. Yes, that is right Chris Cabaldon says he is will drop any consideration for another Assembly race and may even focus on a new career after his term as Mayor runs out. RE and Bob spoke with West Sacramento Mayor Chris Cabaldon about his future plans.

Local legend Debbie Meyer was just 16 and a student at Rio Americano High School when she won three gold medals in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. She became the first swimmer to win three individual gold medals in one Olympics. Debbie who went on to establish a prestigious swimming school in Carmichael that has trained thousands of young swimmers the since it oppened in the 1970s. Kitty and RE spoke with Debbie Meyer.
